Helpful Tips for Vacationing in Grand Turk

LANGUAGE

English is the main language although Creole and Spanish are widely spoken due to the influx of workers from the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

TRAVEL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A full passport and return ticket must be presented at Immigration. No other special visa is required if you are from the US, Canada or EU.

ELECTRICITY

The local electricity supply, is 110V and 60Hz (same as the USA). Power sockets are also two pin US style.

CURRENCY & BANKING

The US dollar is the only currency accepted in the Turks and Caicos Islands. There are two banks on Front Street with ATMs machines. Note that a lot of island establishments do not accept credit cards.

Cell phones with international roaming enabled should work on Grand Turk.

INTERNET

Free wireless access is available in the main restaurant and bar areas of our resort. There are a couple of internet cafes on island.

DRIVING

Visitors from the British Commonwealth Countries, The United States of America, Canada and holders of International drivers license are permitted to drive for 30 days on their respective license. Remember to drive on the left-hand side of the road!
