FOOT PRINTS - Poem written on the beach at Bohio, August 06.

What kind of footprints
Would we leave behind
If our present could be our past?
If we knew what happened next you see
In a future we'd want to last.

Would we sit and wait
Till the future's now
In a past that's not yet been?
Or venture forth through the sands of time
And play the game we cannot win.

Would we tread more lightly
As on a shell caked beach
And gently tip toe by?
Or put on heavy boots or shoes
so the shells don't make us cry.

But that game of life
Has so many rules
Which ones should we heed?
Why, those that leave the kindest footprints
Are the only ones we'll need.
