As you are probably aware, this past September Grand Turk experienced two major hurricanes in close succession. This led to a brief closure of our resort to allow repairs of the airport, island infrastructure and our own facilities. The whole community has pulled together, and it’s our pleasure to welcome back holidaymakers, beach lovers and divers. The resort’s beachfront rooms have been refurbished, the Ike & Donkey Beach Bar remains the island’s local hot spot, and Chef Jorika continues to dazzle guests with her culinary creations.
However, as we continue to upgrade the resort, we would like to make you aware of a few repairs that are still ongoing.
Our swimming pool is not currently operational, though it has a targeted opening date of early February. Meanwhile, the spectacular Caribbean sea remains open! Our shallow beach front is sheltered and perfect for swimming, paddling and all PADI open water preparation.
Additionally, the government has not yet restored internet service on Grand Turk, but we do have cell phone service, and can offer hotspots for critical communication. The cable TV is also down, although the power lines are up and running. Local cable channels may be no great loss, but please don’t rely on your streaming media services while you are with us.
Our dive shop is still in the process of being renovated, but our dive boat and operation is in full service, and the storms have not damaged our beautiful reefs and dive sites.
We hope that you will find all the important ingredients of your vacation more than adequately catered for, indeed we hope that you will enjoy taking the opportunity to wind down and disconnect for a while, grabbing a book and a Bambarra Rum and heading to the beach.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is anything further we can assist with, and thank you again for your continued support as our community mends, heals and gets back to what we do best.
With warmest island regards,
The Bohio Family
