Food & Dining – Bohio Dive Resort Grand Turk Hotels in Turks and Caicos Wed, 28 Mar 2018 21:43:33 +0000 en-US hourly 1 TCI’S ONLY LOCALLY-BREWED BEER Fri, 08 Sep 2017 17:21:45 +0000

If you’re gonna go somewhere new, you have to try their beer. And if you’re heading to the Turks and Caicos Islands, that can mean only one beer: Turks Head Brewing!

While the brewery itself is over on Provo, we are happy to report that the only locally-brewed beer in the TCI is available on Grand Turk and at the Ike & Donkey Beach Bar. It would be downright irresponsible for us not to be able to share our brews with guests from around the world.

And of course, if you’re going to enjoy some ice-cold beers on the beach, there’s no better beach than Pillory and no better bar than the Ike & Donkey. Catch every sunset during your stay at Bohio for a chance to witness a Green Flash, drink some Turks Head, and make some new friends.

We’ll see you there!

We are so lucky to have Chef Jorika Mhende.

Chef Mhende is the heart and soul of Guanahani Restaurant, renowned on Grand Turk for fantastically fresh food and some of the most unique, most delicious ways of preparing fish and shellfish you’ll ever find.

Every single dish is made fresh to order, with Chef Mhende taking the utmost care and attention with every ingredient, every garnish, allowing each bite to become a succulent sample of perfection. Her talent truly shines when it comes to lobster, an ingredient mastered while perfecting countless recipes. Long after you’ve left Bohio you’ll still be thinking about it.

With that kind of care taken, you may be in for a wait, but on the shores of some of the most incredible scenery to be found anywhere – and with refreshments in hand – it’s worth the wait.

The best thing to pair with a perfect day is the perfect wine.

Go out for a dive along the reef, explore some wrecks, and come back hungry for a delicious dinner. Chef Jorika Mhende prepares a fresh, delicious masterpiece for your palate – and then there’s the wine.

You see, it’s not just the food at Guanahani Restaurant & Bar that gets people excited. The food is elegant and delectable, filled with a diversity of powerful flavours both foreign and familiar – it is international cuisine after all – but the wine list brings it all together.

We take our wine list seriously at Bohio, each vintage expertly handpicked to compliment our menu. It’s the pride and joy of our General Manager, Tom, and nothing brings him more pleasure than pairing your perfect day with the perfect wine.

After a long day of diving, you deserve it!

There’s just something special about watching classic Caribbean films while on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It’s the kind of setting so perfect we can’t believe we didn’t start our Caribbean Classics sooner.

What are our “Caribbean Classics”, you ask? Well, those are our Caribbean-themed movie nights hosted on Pillory Beach during spectacular Grand Turk sunsets!

We show Caribbean-themed films like Cool Runnings or How Stella Got Her Groove Back. It’s a great evening along with friends, family, food, and drink. As if you didn’t need enough reasons to swing by the Ike and Donkey Beach Bar, already 🙂

Nothing says “Hollywood ending” like the sun setting behind the movie. Location makes all the difference!

The One-And-Only Pillory Beach Fri, 26 Feb 2016 15:08:18 +0000

Read More]]> feb26
The one-and-only Pillory Beach is an absolutely gem, one we sometimes take for granted here at Bohio. We spend all day every day in this paradise, and while the view never gets old, and on the rare occasion we spend some time at another beach say, for example, Governor’s Beach, we are immediately reminded what makes Pillory the best beach on Grand Turk.

We’re not necessarily talking about avoiding other travelers – though, conveniently, you will run into fewer travelers on Pillory than Governor’s – but we are talking about the intimate, boutique nature of Bohio and what we’ve done to enhance the beach rather than redefine it.

Yes, you can enjoy some fantastic food and drink on Pillory, and yes, the snorkeling and diving are at least as fantastic here as anywhere else. But nowhere else on Grand Turk will you be able to find a more calming, relaxing beach. Being somewhat off the beaten path has its advantages!

If you haven’t seen a Pillory Beach sunset, be sure to add it to your bucket list. The delicious food, refreshing drinks, and relaxing atmosphere simply add to the experience.
